Skillworks: Hospitality and Tourism
Skillworks funding can be used for any training an employer might need to help improve their business. The programme is supported by Greater Merseyside LSC. It leads to greater customer satisfaction, staff loyalty and improved sustainability. Examples of training might include:
- Hospitality and Catering - food preparation; bakery and patisserie; food and beverage service; bar work; wines and spirits.
- Customer care - reception; customer service
- Tourism - tour guiding; languages
- Additional business development - event management; business planning; marketing.
Companies can access up to 60% towards the cost of the training. They must have fewer than 250 employees (including self-employed) and fall into the following sectors to be eligible for Skillworks: Hospitality and Tourism:
- Hotels
- Restaurants
- Pubs, bars and nightclubs
- Food service providers
- Self catering accommodation
- Hospitality services
- Membership clubs
- Holiday parks
- Casinos and gambling
- Visitor attractions
- Youth hostels
- Travel and tourist services
